Fear of the Blank Page or how to begin writing when you have no idea

For many, it is very difficult to get past the beginning of writing. Some even call it "Fear of the Blank Page".
But actually, it is way more simple than it seems.
Let me show you how:

Write a word, just one word. It can be a color, weather, season, anything.
Then see how can you write a sentence around that word.
What comes to your mind when you look at that word?
After you got a sentence, look at it and think about the scene where it might fit.
Write that scene that you see in your head.
Think about what type of characters might fit in this scene, rewrite the whole scene with those characters.
When you are done, well, your story has already began.
Here is an example I've just written. It's quite random but maybe you'll find it helpful.

Winter.

No matter where he looked, blinding white was all he could see.

No matter where he looked, blinding white was all he could see. Endless greenery fields that once brought him joy, a place where he played with his friends, now were nothing more than a frozen wasteland; deadly, and silent. Even if he wanted to go, he was not allowed. The danger was too great. Same with his friends, last time their gang tried to sneak out, they were grounded ever since.

White Death Bringers are a myth! Mike thought.

Those huge wolves that are capable of tearing apart a metal fence, was something that adults scared their children with so they won't wonder around after sunset.
At least that's what Mike thought.
